It is clear to all who dare to see that we are now in the Winter of our despair, discontent and depression. Many people around us are suffering from the evils of unjust social- economic systems protected by rogue military-police states. More and more of us are seeing that we all share the same connected reality. More and more the call for Global Liberation is echoing in the world.

The great Arab Spring with its uprising was followed by the Occupy Wall Street Movement and now the rapidly expanding #IdleNoMore Indigenous Movement is gaining traction. To be free and liberated is a natural expression of being alive.

We can now define the world as existing under an Evil Empire that rules our lives. It seeks to control our entire beings ~ our minds, bodies and souls. Billions of us are forced for our survival into different forms and degrees of slavery to feed its greedy addiction for more profits and more natural resources. No matter the cost in human pain, toil and suffering nor the endless raping of Mother Earth!

We have become slaves to mega-corporations. There are many factors and forces that result in slave conditions. Most people think of slavery as a horror of the past. It brings up images of the history of black slavery in Amerika when over 10 million human beings died as direct consequences of the Atlantic slave trade alone. However, modern-day slavery is still alive, active and expanding in today’s world with all its economic woes and worries under the weight of global corporate capitalism.

Workers who have to work in a given situation for a ‘Boss’ or slavemaster are actually wage-slaves. The root meaning of the word ‘Boss’ is Master. We must see the bulk of the working class as wage slaves tied up to the capitalist means of production for their very survival. You must report to work or you do not eat. You are free to starve.

“Wage slavery is the predominate form of oppression today. Workers are forced to sell themselves (actually, their labor power) in order to survive. Instead of being owned, and provided for in some fashion, they are ‘free’ for the remainder of the day. However, economic necessity prevents the overwhelming mass of humanity from being truly free. Survival is linked to becoming a wage slave for another. In most cases, the ‘other’ is a giant corporation.”

Slavery also still takes the form of property or chattel slavery in dark areas of the world where people have to work strictly to exist in subhuman slave conditions, though supposedly slavery is said to be outlawed. Who will lead a slave rebellion and stop the slavemaster by any means necessary?

“There are 27 million slaves in the world today. A hundred and fifty years ago, an average agricultural slave cost over three times the average yearly wage of an American worker, about US $50,000 in today’s money. Yet now, entire families can be enslaved for generations over a debt as small as $18. Slavery is illegal everywhere, but it exists all over the world.” ~ Lisa Kristine

Human trafficking is a form of slavery ~ 2.4 million people across the globe are victims of human trafficking at any one time, and 80 percent of them exploited as sexual slaves. ~ ~

Many people want to work and earn a decent living above a survival level. Even for the wage-slave, work helps one to feel vital to society, functional and raises’ one’s self-esteem, especially compared to the non-worker just looking forward to the next meal. However, decent jobs are getting harder to find and keep. The slavemaster has to keep the employed slave insecure in fear of losing his job as a control lever over the slave. Slaves are expendable products. Easy come, easy go. Even many college graduates cannot find jobs commensurate with their formal educational level.

Many of us are stuck in the ranks of the unemployed as ‘unemployables ‘and can be considered ‘lumpenproletariat’, to use a Marxism term that was revitalized by the now defunct Black Panther Party. In the U.S.A. we are now a technology-based society more than an old industrial one. Many of our potential jobs are outsourced to other countries. The so-called New World order has no national allegiance. Many of the would-be lumpen have joined the U.S. military to escape from being unemployed. Today the lumpenproletariat in the streets, who are often long-term homeless refugees, have great revolutionary potential because they have no lasting stake in the continued existence of this sick social system.

If we open our eyes we can see the urgent need for Global Liberation and many are waging heroic struggles in that direction. At the same time, we also need to see the inner need for Spiritual Liberation and getting rid of core character defects. We have been brought up in a sick insane world. We do not want to overthrow one set of tyrants to be replaced by another den of thieves. Liberation is a dynamic evolving process, not a fixed final conclusion.

Our liberation struggles must be seen in the context of a general matrix of connected liberation movements manifesting in accordance with regional and local actual conditions. We can and should learn from each other in a spirit of solidarity with a Grand Strategy, but there is no one template that can artificially be used as if we are making cookies. Tahrir Square is not Times Square. Our Plan of Action must be based upon ‘factual analyses of actual conditions’.

After the Grand Strategy is understood by vanguard elements, the tactics applicable to a given situation are products of our imagination alone ~ in harmony with connected reality.
