“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” ― Benjamin Franklin
We have gone through a galactic alignment and have lived through the hyped-up scare of the Mayan Calendar date of December 21, 2012. Life goes on and the struggles for our collective liberation go on.
In a natural response to the slavery, poverty and suffering that exists in the world many people have woken up to the urgent need for open rebellion against tyranny by unjust governments that exploit, oppress and repress the people. This rebellion can take many diverse forms: from spontaneous riots, to single-issue oriented protests, to planned acts of armed rebellion, to long-term political-military campaigns. We have a right and duty to rebel against violent state repression. No tactic can be discounted.
It is natural to rebel against social injustice, natural to take a stand against tyranny and natural for us to come together to help create justice and liberty in the world. It is not natural to be paranoid passive slaves in constant fear and blindly obedient to the slavemaster. We define being a radical as one who strikes at the root of matters, not a deranged extremist.
A Connected Global Matrix ~
We now have a connected matrix of Global Liberation Movements in the world growing at different stages of development with regional strategies and diverse tactics. These are grown out of organic objective local conditions. Many genuine thrusts towards liberation are led by different vanguard elements specific to each region. No single template for struggle fits all situations. Each should strive to create a solid base of operation in an autonomous territory, not merely temporary occupations on ground one cannot hold onto. Tahrir Square is not Times Square. Mass uprisings alone are not enough for us to survive, grow and prosper. Look at Egypt and Libya! We desperately need sustainable administration, viable institutions and community infrastructure to fortify solid bases of operation.
We need to see the commonalities and differences in various liberation movements. Some have a coherent ideology, grand strategy and projected plans for a future political economy. Others have a short term tactical approach, narrow agendas and lack a grand strategy. Some want a total transformation of property relations between the -1% of the ‘haves’ and the +99% of the ‘have-nots’ via Global Liberation and the toppling of an Evil Empire . Others are reformist in their approach and will settle for superficial reforms, a few crumbs from the banquet table as we starve outside.
We need to reach out to other liberationists in other territories online and offline, establish regular exchange programs between each other, travel to and learn about struggles in other lands, forge close working bonds with other liberation movements and remain open to entirely new learning experiences that will enrich all of us.
If they are sincere in their creative efforts, progressive activists will come to learn from their own direct experiences the utter futility of mere reformism of any authoritarian state machinery. Reforms are good temporary measures to slow down the bleeding, but not enough to satisfy our basic needs. Fascism can easily reverse any surface reforms it once granted. Study the #NDAA after you study the U.S. Constitution! The people’s vanguard elements must come to understand the practical necessity and logical possibility of total liberation by any means necessary, no half-measures will suffice.
Ideally, we need to exhaust all legal peaceful methods of struggle. However, connected reality does not always correspond to our high ideals. We need to have flexible tactics, not get stuck on any one approach. What works in one situation may not necessarily work in another one. Methods of protest that are allowed now in Sacramento could get you killed in Syria. Our ideology or system of ideas must be based upon factual analyses of actual conditions in the given situation, not be imported without wise discretion. We are not just making cookies with cookie cutters.
In harmony with our collective drive for Global Liberation we must see the need for our own Spiritual Liberation on an individual level. Each of us needs to do an honest Daily Personal Inventory, question our own inner motives and get rid of any personal character defects that retard our spiritual growth and harms our relationships with others. It is a time for a genuine healing on all levels.
Genuine Power ~
Genuine power is the dual capacity to correctly define connected reality and then transform it in a desired manner. Authentic power is not simply how many individuals you can control and manipulate. No State Power will bow down to a weaker force coming up from the lower classes. Power responds or reacts to any real threat to its power. Usually this take the form of violence or state terrorism if it cannot first defuse, divide or distract a direct threat to its being in power. It is not a question of violence or not. It is a question of do we have a good Plan of Action to win or not!
We each need to do what we can from where we are, learn and support each other along the way and stand in strong solidarity together. Unity based upon common shared principles is true strength and promotes solidarity.
What at first seems like a weakness can actually be strength. There is now no one single vanguard party that fascism can target, isolate and clamp down on, as what happened to the Black Panther Party in the U.S.A. There are scattered out political fronts and points of resistance around the globe. The more movements with move individuals involved the better for all of us. Moving targets are harder to hit than stationary ones. The Evil Empire will have to scatter and weaken its forces more and more, like the Roman Empire.
For now many of us have Internet Power and this has been a big game changer. We can cross borders via the Internet in virtual reality, learn from the struggles of each other, give each other encouragement and offer tangible support. At all times we need to cooperate with each other when and where we can, not compete with each or knock each other down over minor differences. We need free open Internet Access for all.
Most of our people are not even online with regular Internet Access, though they may have access via an iPhone or another mobile device. The point is not all of us are on the same page, let alone on the same website. There is a lot of local community education work and direct eye-to-eye communication to be done, including basic community literacy programs.
There is no greater power in society than the power of the people once they have made a collective decision to unite together to win their liberation. The people are a key part of nature. All of us are responsible for helping to save Mother Earth and helping to save ourselves as an endangered species of life. We will mobilize the masses one at a time based upon our common survival needs: food, clothing, shelter, medical care and quality education as one Family of Humanity.
We the People ~
We have seen the awesome sandstorms of the Arab Spring in the Middle East, the rise of the Occupy Wall Street Movement in the U.S.A. and now we are witnessing the Idle No More Movement involving indigenous rights out of Canada. The reasons for these and other liberation movements have been centuries in the making, not just sudden spurts of inspiration out of the blue,
Each liberation movement must be autonomous and independent, without having to get permission from anyone to take creative constructive action on the local level. Each of us must determine what kind of political-economy we want to bring into being in order to replace the Evil Empire with its global corporate capitalism. People need to know what alternatives we have to offer to the established order.
The Soviet Union is gone, now we have a Russian Empire. The People’s Republic of China has become revisionist, now we have a Chinese Empire. Old Marxist-Leninist ideology is outdated. Socialism cannot fully blossom when corporate capitalism still dominates the global economy. Democracy can be a form of tyranny for the minority. We need to take a fresh look at power relationships in the world. There can be no valid claim to nationhood for a people living under an Empire.
These and other ‘issues in question’ need to be addressed and discussed by the people’s vanguard elements. Where are we now, where are we going and how are we going to get there? Where are our communes where we can live together?
Humane Rights for All ~
We need to develop a common philosophy, a common terminology and have a common agenda based upon a sacred respect for humane rights for all peoples and individuals, including our assumed enemies. We cannot create a new world of love, peace and understanding for ourselves with the same hateful mentality that brought about this sick insane world.
We the people are endowed with sacred humane rights bestowed upon by the Creator, by the laws of nature, not by any man-made mortal governments. We inherit our humane rights as beings of Mother Earth.
The Big Picture ~
Let us take the time to see the Big Picture, not mistake our individual experience for universal truth. Each of us has great potential to help create creative change in the world. Each of us should be a channel for liberation in what ways we can. Our perspective will vary with our existential situation, where we are on the planet and under given conditions around us. It is easy to mindlessly criticize others from afar without first looking in our own backyards. Each of us should be a liberated being as we keep in mind that liberation begins within each of us.
We need to be aware of what is going on in the world in current events, remember relevant historical lessons, see we are all connected at one level or another and closely study our own immediate environment.
Let us pray that 2013 will be a good year for all of us. Remember those who languish in prison, give shelter to homeless refugees and help others in your personal life as you can. We help ourselves by helping each other. Overcome feat, stand up for what’s right and get involved!
