We who love the truth…. via @Peta_de_Aztlan

“And you will know the truth, and that very truth will make you free.” ~ John 8:32
We who love the truth must never tire of sharing knowledge, providing information and raising mass consciousness when online. Sometimes it may seem futile, fruitless and in vain. Sometimes we need to leave the field of liberating politics and recharge ourselves in other spheres of life. Nevertheless, we should do what we can to engage in mass education in order to liberate the repressed minds of the masses; those some arrogant activists call the ‘sheep’.  Fascist propaganda instills fear, confusion and insecurity into the psyche of the people.

Some people may take the time to check out what we transmit online yet offer no relevant feedback. Feedback is the lifeblood of social media. In fact, social media is quickly and exponentially becoming a new form of mass media in competition with fascist-approved corporate media. Feedback assures us that we are not alone and that others in the world are in general agreement with us on pertinent matters. Sharing is caring!

On social media some may be afraid of having their names out here and hide behind the facade of anonymity for various relevant reasons or superficial rationalizations. I myself wholeheartedly support the hacker group #Anonymous. I understand why some comrades stay anonymous for legal reasons because they may actually be wanted by fascist elements. However, being anonymous just to be cool on the safe side can be cowardly. How can we expect the masses to rise up if we are afraid to show our faces and reveal our  names?

I for one am not anonymous and refuse to hide behind any anonymity. I crossed the Red Line long ago ~ the point of no return from being an obedient silent slave into being a slave in full rebellion.

In my late teens I was already actively involved in the Movimiento, the Brown Berets and other groups. I took a position against U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War and supported the Chicano Anti-War Movement. I was and am against any unjust war, not necessarily all wars. There can be just and unjust wars. I am not a neo-liberal pacifist. We have the sacred right to armed self-defense for our loved ones by any means necessary!

In 1976, after the Vietnam War, I volunteered and was at first accepted into the U.S.A.F. My marriage had fallen apart and I needed a big change in my life’s direction. I had the highest test scores of anyone I talked to at Oakland Induction Center and was assigned to be an Administrative Aide to a high-ranking Air Force officer. However, on the day before I was scheduled to report in I received a telephone call from Lackland Air Force Base and was told I would NOT be activated “for the convenience of the government”.

I was told over the phone by an anonymous Air Force officer that a background check revealed that I had been connected with a political group from my Sacramento High School days, from where I graduated in 1969. To me, that was lightweight. Most of my friends were activated radicals or at least supported progressive issues. After all we are talking about the late 1960’s when the revolutionary movement inside the United States was at a high tide. Afterwards, I received an Honorable Discharge Certificate through the U.S. Mail that I later burned into flames out of disgust; so much for my trying to be a gung-ho patriotic American.

I refuse to live my life on Mother Earth in constant paranoid fear under Corporate Fascism. We must have the bold courage to act upon our personal convictions or openly admit we are spineless cowards. Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way! Many of us are moving forward in a progressive revolutionary direction. There is a multiplying matrix of liberation movements rising up around the world.

We need to be energetic transmitters of the truth as we know it and stand up for the truth wherever we are. Be open to helpful constructive criticism, engage in courageous self-criticism and accept corrective analysis from any source. We must not be afraid to question our own precious belief-systems. We must not be ashamed to reconsider our cherished notions in light of fresh information, new insights and global paradigm shifts.

No one has cornered the market on truth. Each of us may have our own spin on the truth. There is no totally objective journalism. We must admit our ultimate subjectivity and not be afraid of making a commitment. The more viewpoints and differences of opinion we are open to hearing out the better for all of us.

For those of us online, there is so much news and information coming out that we may not be able to stop and think, serenely sit back, take our time and examine new evidence that comes before us. I am convinced that many online activists suffer from ADHD or at least ADD.
At the same time, in our personal lives when we are offline and engaged in personal conversations with others in our local community we need to be able to consciously guide conversations into relevant discussions, engage in constructive dialogue and exchange opinions in healthy debates, not pretend to be know-it-alls. If we know everything we can learn nothing. What we need is the free and open exchange of ideas, news and information based upon our common needs.

For us to be balanced and centered we need to take care of our health in general. We are triune beings in the trinity of the mind, body and soul. Besides being online or offline, there is a realm of being ‘inline’ when we take time out of our busy schedules for prayer, meditation and introspection. Now with new advancements in technology many of us have the potential to be online on a constant basis, especially with our mobile devices. We are all connected in the context of connected reality.

We are talking about waging protracted warfare as a part of our whole lifestyle. Thus, we should be calm, patient and not easily excited by the passing winds of world events. We need to keep a conscious balance in order to avoid burn out and other unsafe practices. Keep in mind the long arduous road ahead!

We should be humane liberationists and conduct ourselves as such 24-hours a day, seven days a week and strive to live our lives so that our personal behavior patterns are consistent with our humane principles.

The masses of people are the true genius in the annals of history in their collective knowledge about life upon Mother Earth. We who consider ourselves as relatively knowledgeable about social issues must be good at listening closely to the people, hear them out without interruption and be willing to re-analyze social issues in light of intelligent input from others. After all, we are of the people, fight for the people and should be dedicated servants of the people. We help ourselves by helping others.
